The West Indies team have created history as they have become two times ICC World Twenty20 trophy winners by defeating England in the final of 2016 championship on Sunday. It was thrilling England vs West Indies wt20 final in which The Caribbean team have registered 4 wickets victory over 2010 world t20 champions. Eden Gardens witnessed the grand celebration from West Indies team after the match.

It was a great and memorable day for West Indies cricket as first their women’s team won the women’s twenty20 world cup first time ever and then in the night, men’s team also claimed the trophy. 2016 is a wonderful year for Windies cricket as their U19 cricket team also won ICC Under-19 world cup this year.

West Indies skipper won toss for the successive 6th time in the event and chose to field first as usual. The Caribbean team got the start they were looking for as England lost 3 wickets on just 23 runs score. After that Joe Root started to build the innings and scored brilliant half-century to lead the English team towards a fighting total. Jos Buttler, David Willey made some handy contributions in the end that put 155 runs challenging total on this Kolkata’s wicket.

There were some serious expectations from destructive opener Chris Gayle in this crucial final but he again failed as England trapped him and Johnson Charles. English skipper Morgan called Joe Root to bowl the second over in the innings and he took wickets of both Charles and Gayle in his very first over of the tournament. After this West Indies batsmen struggled a lot against English bowling and were in the contest just because of Marlon Samuels.

Marlon scored slow but needful fifty in the contest. In the last over of innings, West Indies was required 19 runs and Carlos Brathwaite was on the strike. He smashed 4 sixes on the very first 4 balls of the final over to win title for country.
