Tokyo organizing committee has proposed five new sports for the 2020 Olympic Games. Karate, sports climbing, skateboarding, surfing and baseball/softball are the additional proposed sports for Tokyo Olympics.
Tokyo 2020 organizing committee said, “This package of events represents both traditional and emerging, youth-focused events, all of which are popular both in Japan and internationally.”
Additional event panel head Fujio Mitarai told reporters, “I think this is a wonderful package of events.”
