NRL: Brett Morris capped a sensational return to the NRL with a hat-trick for the Bulldogs in their 40-14 win over Brisbane Broncos at ANZ Stadium.

Brett Morris celebrates a try.

HAS Brett Morris just played himself back into a NSW jumper?

The Canterbury flyer scored three tries on his long-awaited return from injury as the Bulldogs rolled premiership favourites Brisbane at ANZ Stadium.

Playing on the left wing, Morris crossed three times as the home side won 40-14 to rocket back into title contention.

The veteran back was close to faultless in his first game of the 2016 season.

It’s sparked speculation of a State of Origin recall as the Blues scramble to save face in a series they’ve already lost in two games.

Earlier, Cronulla held on for another nail biting triumph over a willing Warriors outfit with their 11th straight win on the trot coming via a James Maloney field goal in golden point.

The Dragons defeated the Knights 30-18 at Hunter Stadium.
