NRL: The Semi Radradra saga has taken a different turn with his former partner placing an AVO out on the Eels winger, alleging Radradra assaulted her numerous times
SHOULD Semi Radradra be a no-show in The Shire, expect Bureta Faraimo to be plonked on to the left wing and given the horror job of stopping Cronulla Sharks favourite Valentine Holmes.
Faraimo trained outside Michael Jennings on Wednesday, and will play his first NRL game this year if his high-profile Fijian teammate remains AWOL. Running out on to a packed Southern Cross Group Stadium as the home side chases a historic 12 straight wins will mean Faraimo has little time to adjust to the big occasion.
The 25-year-old has played 13 NRL games, with his last top-flight appearance against the Dragons in round 26 last year.
His fuzzy hair and short socks on a cold morning at Parramatta made Faraimo easy to spot at training.
RADRADRA RETURN OR A LOT OF BULA
EVEN SEMI’S SPONSOR IS GOING TO FRANCE
“Young Bureta has trained there a couple of times when Semi hasn’t trained, so he’ll be fine,’’ left centre Michael Jennings said, if Faraimo was given the nod.
Jennings will have his own intriguing battle when he lines up opposite NSW teammate Jack Bird.
“He’s a good young talent, it’s always a good challenge, and I think he’s looking forward to the challenge,’’ he said.
Jennings had given no thought to Origin III, and was not fazed by talk of getting rid of the older brigade, and blooding some fresh faces like Bird.
“Whatever decision ‘Loz’ (coach Laurie Daley) makes will be best for the team. My main focus is on playing good footy for Parra,’’ he said.
