NRL: Former NRL coach Ivan Cleary believes that if Semi Radradra opts out of his contract with the Parramatta Eels he should be banned from the NRL

Tim Mannah isn’t getting carried away by the Radradra furore.

TIM Mannah was the last person to see Semi Radradra before he flew out to Fiji, paying him a late-night visit after he failed to show for a post-match get-together.

But Mannah is entitled to be the first player disappointed if Radradra does not show for training as expected on Wednesday, or walks out on the club entirely.

Mannah has fronted the media countless times this season to answer questions about countless dramas he has had nothing to do with.

Proving why he was made club captain, Mannah made a point of checking in on Radradra at his home after the Eels’ victory over South Sydney when he noticed his absence.

He was one of the few Eels to have spoken with Radradra in Fiji.

Mannah said he had no reason to believe Radradra would not front for training, and often took his time returning from Fiji.

A good mate of Jarryd Hayne, Mannah said Radradra had not met up with Hayne who was also in Fiji training with the sevens’ squad.

“I’ve had a chat with Semi while he’s been over there, which was earlier in the piece. It was just general chit-chat, things like, ‘how is your trip going?’, and ‘how are the boys?’,’’ Mannah said.

“Every time he goes back to Fiji, he always takes his time getting back, he gets on Fiji time, so I’m not stressing too much he’s not back yet.

“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

“Until he does something wrong, there’s no point throwing stones at him. He’s gone home to Fiji, he’s had a break which he was given time off for, and which he did after the last bye as well.’’

Mannah believes Radradra is the ‘’best winger in the competition’’. As for talk about a move to French rugby, Mannah said it would always loom as a viable option because of his background in the game.

“He brings a lot to our team and he’s a player we definitely love having in our side,’’ Mannah said.

“I think good players breed more confidence. The pleasing thing about us this year is we’ve had a lot of things go against us, a lot of adversity and players out, but everyone steps up and fills in. Bevan French is a good example of someone who has stepped on to the wing and filled in really well.

“The beauty of our squad is the depth, and we’re confident when people miss games, people can slot in and do a good job.’’
